CD | Dual plate check valves

Categories:

Our BORE CD model dual plate check valves are mechanical devices designed to regulate the flow of fluids or gases in pipelines. Their distinctive feature is the use of two hinged plates or doors (also called discs) that are positioned in the center of the valve body. These plates swing on hinges or pivots, allowing them to open in the direction of forward flow and close to prevent backflow.

SIZE: DN50 to DN900 ( NPS 2” to 36”).

PRESSURE: PN6 to PN420 (Class 150# to 2500#).

DUAL PLATE CHECK VALVES

Our BORE CD model dual plate check valves are mechanical devices designed to regulate the flow of fluids or gases in pipelines. Their distinctive feature is the use of two hinged plates or doors (also called discs) that are positioned in the center of the valve body. These plates swing on hinges or pivots, allowing them to open in the direction of forward flow and close to prevent backflow.

Key characteristics of dual plate check valves include:

– Compact Design: Dual plate check valves are typically more compact compared to traditional swing check valves. The dual plate configuration allows for a more streamlined and space-efficient design.

– Reduced Pressure Drop: The streamlined shape of the plates and the reduced distance the plates need to travel during operation contribute to lower pressure drop across the valve, enhancing overall system efficiency.

– Quick Closing: The dual plates enable quick closure of the valve, minimizing the potential for water hammer or backflow. This feature is particularly advantageous in applications where rapid closing is essential to prevent damage to downstream equipment.

– Versatility: Dual plate check valves are versatile and find applications in various industries, including oil and gas, water treatment, HVAC, and manufacturing, where they ensure unidirectional flow control.

– Spring-Assisted Option: Some dual plate check valves come with spring-assisted mechanisms, providing additional assistance in closing the plates and ensuring a prompt shut-off.

These valves are commonly used in situations where space constraints, reduced pressure drop, and efficient prevention of backflow are crucial considerations. Their design and operation make them well-suited for applications in which a compact, reliable, and quick-closing check valve is required to maintain the integrity of fluid or gas systems.
